Movie Night #2 - The Gods Must Be Crazy
"Do you wish you were one of the bushmen?" my mom asked after we watched the movie.
My sister and I both immediately went, "Yes!"
My sister and I both immediately went, "Yes!"
Before I watched this movie, from the little I had heard about it, I expected it to be complete comedy with one of those really random plotlines that old comedy movies sometimes have. While there was plenty of comedy, though, the storyline was actually quite good.
The narrator described the bushmen, and then went on to explain how the rest of the human race have completely overcomplicated our own lives. This is so true. The way that the bushmen live makes so much sense to me, but instead of living the life of simple happiness that they do, we have pretty much just messed up everything because of our attempts to make our lives easier and because humans tend to be stupidly greedy.
I was not happy with that airplane pilot.
The sound effects in this movie were a little ridiculous, especially the ones in the scenes involving shooting. Also, I am still wondering how that Coke bottle managed not to break when it fell out of the airplane. It's made of glass and it fell out of an airplane. How was it still whole?
I was also a bit disappointed with Kate when she kissed Mr Steyn. Yes, he had made a good first step toward showing her that he was actually not an idiot. That doesn't mean she would kiss him just like that. And I had thought she was a smart person.
It made me really happy when Xi came to the edge of that cliff, though. I'm so glad he found it, and that it happened to be a foggy day. I like happy endings.
